Message from Composer Mary Rae

Welcome to my site! I'm happy to share my love for contemporary classical music and hope you will enjoy listening. I love a wide range of music from Bach to Miles Davis to Cream, but as a composer, I have found
myself gravitating toward a tonal simplicity. You will also find links on the left to my poetry, translations and
art pages. It has been said many times that the arts are interrelated, and I have always felt that music, writing
and painting were facets of the same jewel.  A short list of greats who have influenced me: Bach, Rachmaninov, Verdi, Puccini, Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann, Handel, Grieg, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Massenet, Ravel, Beethoven,Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Alkan, Glenn Gould, Amelita Galli-Curci, Josef Hoffman, Fritz Kreisler, William Kapell, Rampal, Julius Baker,  St. John of the Cross, William Wordsworth, John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Federico Garcia Lorca, Garcilaso de la Vega, Antonio Machado, Juan Ramon Jimenez, Renoir, Manet, Goya, El Greco, Titian, Roualt, Tintoretto, Delacroix, Modigliani, John Marin, and on and on...
