Few translators of poetic works have both a deep understanding of poetry and a

     profound knowledge of the subtleties of the original language. Mary Rae has

     a degree in Spanish Language and Literature, and is a widely published poet and

     a former editor of the poetry journal "Romantics Quarterly." In addition, she is

     an artist and has painted original illustrations for each of  the poems.
